The next craft fair for David Jenkins Papercuttings will be the McLean Holiday Crafts Show, December 6-8 at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Ave. in McLean, VA. This great show returns after a three-year absence during which the Community Center was undergoing renovation. Join Dave and some 80 other fine crafters for this always-popular event. (See the show's website for times and entrance fees.)
Dave's papercutting, "The Octopus's Garden" (below), will be part of the Guild of American Papercutters' traveling exhibit, "Places in Paper". During the next several months, stop by one of two Arlington, VA, locations to see the work of 34 papercutters from across the United States (and elsewhere):
- The exhibit opens on September 9, 2019, at Gallery 3700, 3700 Four Mile Run Dr., and remains there through December 8. A public reception will occur at the Gallery on October 12 from 3PM to 5PM.
- "Places in Paper" then moves on to Westover Library, 1644 N. McKinley Rd., and will be there from December 17 through February 18, 2020.
Northern Virginia band Local 12 recently commissioned Dave to do a papercutting of a toddler with an electric guitar for their new CD album, "Baby Steps." For more information on the recently released album and the band, see localtwelve.com.
